30 Years Old Madelyn Sher Was Born and Raised in New York
The multi-disciplinary artist blows the birthday candles on the 25th of May every year and is currently 30 years of age.
She was born in East Village, a neighborhood you would find on the East Side of Lower Manhattan in New York City to Ben and Tina Sher.
Her family relocated to St George, Staten Island, also in New York when she was just 5 years old, and that’s where she was raised and has so far spent most of her life.
Currently, however, the entertainer lives in Brooklyn. She is known to have a younger brother named Emmet Sher.
The Actress Was Born into a Family of Creatives
Born to a dad who is a Jazz musician, and a visual artist mom, one can easily surmise that the creative DNA was inevitable. And that from infancy she was exposed to the soulful colors of artistic expressions.
Little surprise then, that the passion for dancing came to her early on and she was already taking dance lessons from her tender years in Manhattan.
Madelyn Sher committed more to dancing in Staten Island at the Staten Island Ballet and started to take classes in drama there during a summer program.

Madelyn Sher went to Children Harbor Montessori School for a year, and then PS 16 John J. Driscoll School in Staten for elementary school. There she participated in several plays and storytelling contests. She would later attend Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan, where a monologue and song performance was part of the process of being admitted.
Thereafter, Sher attended the LaGuardia Arts High School for drama and dance where she found herself drawn more to drama. This did not halt her dancing pursuit as she continued its study at the Ailey School of Dance. To further her education, she went to CUNY Lehman College and enrolled for the Macaulay Honors Program in Bronx, New York.
She was involved in several plays, including The Rimers of Eldritch, Noises Off, and Romeo and Juliet where she played Juliet. During her time at CUNY Lehman College, she won the Promising Filmmaker award at the CUNY Film Festival of 2018 for her produced film, Looking Inwood.
After she graduated from college, she started attending auditions and went for many before the one that got her the role as Natalie’s (Belissa Escobedo) love interest, Amy, in the ABC television series, The Baker and the Beauty. As one would expect, Sher was elated to receive the news that she had landed the role just three days after the audition.

As you’re aware of in bits by now, Madelyn’s other major passion is dancing. Over the years she’s not given in to any such idea that she cannot pursue all her dreams at the same time. She had her degree at CUNY Lehman’s Macaulay Honors College in Dance and Philosophy. Sher has been and is still involved in many dance projects, both as a performer and organizer.
She has performed in works presented by Beverly Lopez, Ni’Ja Whitson, New Worlds Theater Project, the Harbor Lights Theater Company, and Hippocampe Mime Corporel Théâtre. She’s also a choreographer, with a style that blends contemporary dance, Butoh, mime, and physical theater. Her choreographic work has been showcased in big events and prestigious venues such as SMUSH Gallery, MERDE at The Footlight, Triple 9 Festival, Theater for the New City, Triskelion Arts, among others.
Currently, she works with a dance company called Redi Dance, which combines dance theatre work and educational programming for the youth in the Bronx. Madelyn Sher works as a performer and as part of the board members.
